The Right Decision

the five characters in the this book made a bad decision. The night they all got drunk, and burn down the old hunting cabin with some one in.the they decided too not tell anybody, and hope this would just pass by.Fortuallay he was not dead.he is taking revenage in his own hands.one character has already been shot in his garage.the decision they make are catching up too them fast.I would have not made there decisions,i would had too tell somebody. the police would be my first choice.in this case the right decisions are matter of life or death. I always make the right choice.

The plot of the story made me keep reading. It kept me inerested in what was going to happen next in the story. The plot is a thriller. It keeps me thinking about the next events that occured in the story. each chapter in the story grabs a hold of you and makes you keep going until you become satified with what you wanted to read, and so far i cant put my book down.

These book is very interesting because it kind of relate to real life. It talks about how people become super stars and every body think there life is all gud until they understand whats go on behind laugh and smile . for example dillon have problems at home with his parents. and that real some people have problem with there family and they are superstar in other people eyes . so i hope by the end of these book everything come out gud because its realer as the book goes on .

Fifth Response By: Rodney Rainey

In the story so far, things get more serious and dramatic.Everybody starts to settle down and live their new lives. If their was a chance that I had I would make teir lives more better and acceptable. The characters would live rich with little financial problems and sometimes things would go wrong at home.It would be better if I was the author of the story because the story would have much humor and detail. There would also be sad and romantic moments that would lead to good futures for the characters in the story.

terrell book chris crutcher by chinese handcuffs

so far the book is talkin a girl now who had switch to a different school and she is one of the best beketball player in the state and senth the city they come is very small prese is all over it and they ask the coach waz she going to be the key player to the game and the coach said no there are more than just one player on the team so if she focused her team around one person then the other team will notice that and that wouldnt be right and fare for the others players . the prese said more than likely she going to have to work her she is the best in the state .
So far the book has been very good. the characters are very believable the thing that happens is the group of teenage kids get drunk and burn a kid alive in a old hunting cabin. This could happen any where too any boddy. You probably can predict there next move, i will tell you what happens next . The groups of kids decide not to tell anyone, they even threaten the one girl who trying too stop the madness.she was not from around there ,she was a cousin of the one girl in the group .I will make a list of characters later on a different post. This book would never relate too me, because i would never get drunk in the woods and burn some one alive.this book could relate to someone else crazy enought too this.I dont know how long these kids are gonna keep this thing a secret, because this book is named "back from the dead".

The Allure of the West

Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer, pgs 144-207 (end)
Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller, pgs 1-97

So, I finished Into the Wild and started rereading a book that I'm studying with my AP Literature class. As I read the first act of the play I was struck by the similarity between Chris McCandless and many of the characters from Death of a Salesman. The main character of this story, Willy Loman frets over a missed opportunity to accompany his older brother to Alaska to make money. Instead he is 60 and stuck in a dead end sales job. Interestingly enough, Willy's father abandoned him as a child to also seek fortune in Alaska. In a weird twist, Willy is disappointed in his son Biff because he is constantly seeking work outside of the norm of the day. He's worked on cattle farms and other jobs that Willy does not respect. Biff explains that he likes these jobs because he's not stuck inside at a desk and can be out in the open air.

In American culture the west has always been symbolic of the open frontier, a vast unexplored wilderness where a man could make his living outside of the realm of laws and societal constraints. It's interesting that these two books, written 50 years apart, have such similar themes.

Does anyone else know of any characters who seek a life outside of society? Anyone have a friend or family member who constantly wants to go out on the open road? What do you think drives a person to feel like this?

Fourth Book Response by: Rodney Rainey

Now this book is at a point where things start to twist a little tab bit.I sometimes don't understand the characters in the story. This particullar reason is that they choose the wrong path to life and then they don't change the way they live at the right time.I noticed that this book has a huge impact on my by how all these problems happen at the same time but then the solutions come in many different ways.

Third Book response by: Rodney Rainey

So far this book is getting more interesting by the second.Dr.john lost his wife in despite of constantly working with experiments in his lab.roschouch is still trying to find out who killed Eddie.I think that he deserved to be murdered because Eddie did many bad things like killing children in Vietnam, raping mid-age women, and killed his girlfriend while she was pregnant.I didn't like Eddie because he thought he was unstoppable and would think that him doing bad things to people was good for his country.

beliveable

The characters seem real and believable. When i was reading the book i caught my elf being sympothic for the characters. the charracters remind me of myself and what i would do in that situation.

The Thief Lord

I am reading The Thief Lord by Corneila Funke. My book is about a group of kids with out homes who make a living by stealing thngs.

i like the book becasue its a clever book. It keeps me thinking about whats going to happen next and it keeps my attention

Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer Pages: 1-144

So, the book I'm reading is about this early twenty something kid who
is pretty alienated. It's a nonfiction book, and since I haven't
summed it up yet in a previous response, it's about a kid who is
searching for meaning in life and seeks this meaning by exploring.
At the beginning of the book we find out that he ends up dying in the
middle of Alaska to exposure.

Even though I think I'm supposed to, I'm having a really hard time
identifying with the main character, Chris McCandless. I look at
the cover and there's this picture of Emile Hirsch portraying
McCandless. He's a good looking kid, and he's kind of sitting in this
"top of the world" type dominant pose. The author seems to really
identify with the character, and spends a couple of chapters relating
his own similar experiences. And McCandless is seemingly the rugged,
individualistic antihero that Americans celebrate.

But, I can't get into him, and I think it's because I'm a parent
now. I see the way this kid abandoned his parents, went off into the
middle of nowhere, took chances, didn't write home, and espoused his
theories on the way life works to whomever would listen, and I'm
like, "dude...call your mom, dad and sister. They're worried sick."
The kid is kind of portrayed as this spiritual, deep Thoreau quoting
prophetic figure, but he just strikes me as naive and self centered.
I don't know what I'd do if I was his parent. I would be devastated
if my son took off after graduating college and just disappeared.
It's really rather sad.

(By the way, if you're wondering, this response is to the 7th bullet
under character. The total length of this response is 279 words. I
summed up the book to start because I figured you'd need that
information, but then I really tried to stick to talking about
whether or not I identified with the main character and why.)

terrell

hi these terrell i just for what had to post

Your 1st Post!

Today in class we will be posting to our blogs. To keep things simple, this
first post will be a kind of introductory thing. Here's what I'd like each
of you to write (make sure it is under your own display name):

1. In 2-3 sentences, give us a taste of the book. What is the title? Who
is the author? What is the "gist"? (It's about a girl who...)
2. In a separate paragraph of 2-3 sentences, finish this sentence: One
thing I like (or don't like) about the book so far is...
